THE NEW FOREST

The New Forest National Park is a combination of open heathland interspersed with ancient woodland which has changed little since it was the Royal Hunting Grounds of William the Conqueror for the chase of the deer.

New Forest ponies graze freely with Cattle, Donkeys and Pigs all owned and kept by traditional means by the commoners.

Whilst the forest is managed it is left as much as possible to evolve naturally, in turn provides a perfect habitat for many species of birds, animals and reptiles. Forest Deer include Red, Roe, Fallow, Sika and Muntjac.

Remember the speed limit is 30-40 mph and all the animals have right of way!

The forest is within easy reach of the coast and historic towns and cities such as Bournmouth and Salisbury, which makes it an ideal base to explorer the South of England.

If you're looking for food the surrounding area is dotted with traditional countryside pubs and a few very fine foodie resturants to meet everyone's needs.

Be it visiting the pretty villages, walking, cycling, nature watching or just relaxing, the New Forest is a magical and beautiful place to stay. With a stay at Little Acorns we know you will have a great break!
